Postdoc 'Human immunology and vaccinology'
Job Summary: The Parasitology Unit at Radboud university medical center is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on vaccine discovery and clinical development for infectious diseases such as malaria, Nipah, Ebola, and Marburg. Research focuses on immunity development, immunogenicity assessment, and use of technologies like high-dimensional single-cell phenotyping, humoral assays, liquid biopsy, and functional immunological assays.
Responsibilities: Conduct and conceptualize research projects; contribute to the design and setup of clinical studies in Nijmegen and disease-endemic regions; develop and deploy immunological assays; engage in scientific publishing and reporting; train junior staff including PhD, MSc, and bachelor students.
Qualifications and Requirements: PhD with an immunological profile; experience in malaria-endemic settings (not mandatory); interest in infectious diseases and vaccinology; interest in research with human participants; track record of high-quality research publications; experience working in international teams; good communication skills; commitment to teamwork; Dutch and French language skills (not mandatory).
What the Employer Offers: Fixed-term contract of 1 year with prospect of extension; gross monthly salary between €3598 and €5669 for full-time employment (36 hours per week); 8% holiday allowance; 8.3% end-of-year bonus; 176 vacation hours per year based on a 36-hour working week; support for career development and access to a scientific network and biobank.
