"Postdoc in Social Psychology"

Job Summary

As a member of our research team, you will play a key role in a project seeking to better understand the relation between disgust and our moral psychology. You will work with Josh Tybur, the project’s lead investigator, and other team members. You will explore ideas related to disgust and morality, conduct research, report findings, coordinate cross-cultural projects, and lead writing of registered reports. The targeted starting date is 1 January 2026, with flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Map out existing literature on disgust and morality and generate new ideas
• Co-coordinate large-scale international data collection
• Design and implement new experiments
• Collect, analyze, and curate data
• Report on findings in local meetings and (inter)national conferences
• Assist in minor teaching activities within the department
• Contribute to the team spirit and help others achieve their goals

Qualifications and Requirements

• Completed or will soon complete a PhD in social psychology, evolutionary psychology, cognitive science, or experimental philosophy
• Expertise in moral psychology, evolutionary psychology, and/or emotion
• Expertise in quantitative research methods
• Experience with cross-cultural data collection
• Enjoy quantitative analyses and have a strong background in statistics
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills
• Team player with good communication abilities

What the Employer Offers

A fixed-term contract of 1 year for 1 FTE, with possibility of extension. Salary between €3378 and €5331 gross per month based on education and experience. Additional benefits include holiday leave entitlement, holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus, contribution to commuting expenses, and access to sports facilities.
