Postdoc molecular biology
Job Summary: Join us in advancing discovery in bone research by developing gene therapy for Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), focusing on therapeutic approaches using in vitro and in vivo models. The project involves using CRISPR technology to promote bone tissue regeneration through genetic modifications in stem cells.
Responsibilities: Conduct independent and original scientific research, report findings in international publications and presentations, complete the project within 21 months, and initiate grant applications to secure additional funds.
Qualifications and Requirements: Highly ambitious and motivated with a PhD in biomedical sciences; strong background in molecular and cell biology, genetics, or biotechnology; extensive experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques (handling of iPSCs and CRISPR is advantageous); experience with translational research using in vivo models is preferred; excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
What the Employer Offers: A 12-month contract with potential extension, salary scale of €3,598 to €5,669 gross per month based on full-time employment, year-end bonus of 8.3%, 190.4 holiday hours per year, pension accrual, reimbursement for travel costs, and a collaborative research environment at Amsterdam UMC.
