Postdoctoral Associate - Bioengineering

Position Summary:

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will support collaborative research at the intersection of PK/PD modeling and systems pharmacology in Prof. Oleg Igoshin's group in the Department of Bioengineering. The role will contribute to research related to biologic drugs and cell-based therapeutics through development of mathematical and computational models of biologic production, transport, clearance, and interactions with cells and tissues, in collaboration with experimental research teams. This position is supported by grant-funded research associated with the ARPA-H ROGUE and EXLIXIR projects.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in quantitative modeling together with sufficient biological understanding to work effectively across computational and experimental environments. This individual will be excited by interdisciplinary research and motivated to contribute to PK/PD modeling and systems pharmacology efforts related to biologic drugs and cell-based therapeutics.

  • No additional experience beyond graduate research is required

Preferences:

  • Experience in pharmacometrics, ideally developed during doctoral training.
  • Training in both mathematical or computational modeling and the biological sciences.
  • Experience or strong interest in PK/PD modeling and systems pharmacology.
  • Publication record in mathematical modeling, systems biology, or a closely related field.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and apply PK/PD and systems pharmacology models in support of sponsored research projects.
  • Analyze and interpret biological and pharmacological data to inform model development and refinement.
  • Collaborate closely with experimental research teams to align modeling work with project data and research objectives.
  • Support validation of models through comparison with experimental findings and iterative refinement.
  • Contribute to manuscripts, reports, presentations, and other research deliverables.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary scientific discussions and contribute to the broader research direction of the lab.
