Postdoctoral Associate
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Plasma Science and Fusion Center
to contribute to the development and implementation of advanced plasma diagnostic systems for magnetic fusion experiments; focus on plasma reflectometry and related millimeter-wave technologies, including systems to be deployed in the SPARC tokamak; design, test, and operate millimeter-wave and reflectometry systems for plasma measurements; develop data acquisition and analysis tools; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at MIT and partner institutions on diagnostic integration and commissioning; and contribute to publications and conference presentations in the field of fusion diagnostics.
Job Requirements
- REQUIRED: Ph.D. in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field; general knowledge of fusion-grade plasma physics; strong experimental, analytical, and programming skills; and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment.
- PREFERRED: Hands-on experience with microwave or millimeter-wave systems, RF electronics, or plasma diagnostics.
This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal depending on satisfactory performance and continued funding.
