Position Function:

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Dynamical Systems, beginning as early as Spring 2026 with the option to postpone the start date to Fall 2026. The initial appointment is for two years, with a possible renewal for a third year. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Christian Wolf. Strong applicants from all areas of Dynamical Systems are encouraged to apply; however, the greatest interest is for applicants with interest in one or more of the following topics: complex dynamics, computability in dynamical systems, smooth ergodic theory, symbolic dynamics, thermodynamic formalism, and applications to mathematical biology.

Salary Grade: UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in research and teaching. The position comes with a 1+1 teaching load (6 credits per year).

Minimum Qualifications:

Requirements for a postdoctoral position include a doctoral degree at the start date of the position with a preference for recent PhDs, and an interest in pursuing original research.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
