Postdoctoral Research Associate, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering
Company: The University of Arizona
Job Location: Tucson, 85724
Category: Mechanical Engineering
Type: Full-Time
Posting Number: req23734
Department: Aerospace & Mechanical Engr
Location: Main Campus
Address: Tucson, AZ USA
Position Highlights
The selected candidate will conduct research associated with the DoD-funded project "Nonlinear Oscillator Synchronization and Multi-Agent Consensus on Compact Manifolds with Novel Feedback Coupling and Complex Network Optimization." Specifically, the selected candidate will address Research Objective (RO) (2) Investigate the dynamical phenomena of orbital and cluster consensus and balancing on compact manifolds and their extension to periodic and chaotic oscillator synchronization, RO (3) Utilize strategies in feedback control theory of fractional-order and/or time-periodic feedback coupling, with or without time delay, for improving metrics for consensus and synchronization, RO (4) Investigate the optimization of various types of complex networks for given dynamics, and RO (5) Utilize the techniques developed in ROs (1-4) to investigate applications of interest to the DoD. The inclusion of higher-order interactions in complex network dynamics as well as time delay in the coupling functions will be major focuses of the candidate's work.
