Postdoctoral Research Associate - Anatomy

The Department of Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology (EEOB) at Brown University is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join the teaching staff of a highly collaborative, team-taught medical school human anatomy course, and to conduct research in organismal biology or anatomy education. The primary teaching responsibility is the Human Anatomy course for first-year medical students, with additional duties teaching Master’s and Physician Assistant students and preparing anatomical teaching materials. Brown offers many opportunities for research collaborations with faculty in organismal biology and anatomy education and excellent facilities for research. Applicants should contact an EEOB anatomy/organismal biology faculty member to discuss potential research collaborations (Elizabeth Brainerd, Eleanor Caves, Matthew Fuxjager, Patrick Green, Jarrod Petersen, Dale Ritter, Thomas Roberts, Sharon Swartz, and Jessica Tingle).

This position is available for the 2026-2027 academic year with a possibility of renewal for a maximum of three years total. The start date is July 1, 2026 and teaching duties begin August 1, 2026.

Application review will begin January 15th 2026 and continue until the position is filled.

Salary will be based on Brown's posted postdoctoral salary minimums and is commensurate with experience.

For this position, Brown does not sponsor the H-1B visa classification to scholars who need immigration sponsorship in order to enter the U.S. and commence lawful employment under the terms of their appointment.

Applicants must have potential for excellence in teaching and research, and all requirements for a doctoral degree completed before start of the position. Prior experience in a cadaver-based gross anatomy course is highly preferred but not required.

Applicants should submit a CV, statements of teaching philosophy and research interests, up to three representative publications, and names of three references. Candidates should address how they would contribute to the research and/or teaching missions of our diverse and inclusive university community.
