The Department of Physics at Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics starting on 09/01/2025 and ending on 08/31/2026. The research project will focus on the optical spectroscopy study of 2D materials and related van der Waals heterostructures. The researcher will develop an understanding of light-matter interaction in confined 2D, where quantum effects are important.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Physics (or related fields) by the time of appointment.
Applications, including a curriculum vitae, publication list, and statement of research interests, should be submitted through this Interfolio site. Candidates should also arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation uploaded to Interfolio.
The evaluation of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Please contact Prof. Sufei Shi at sufeis@andrew.cmu.edu with any questions.
