Position Summary
The Rupprecht lab seeks a postdoctoral researcher to study the role of the gut-brain connection in the effects of alcohol and food intake using genetically-engineered mouse models, biochemistry and mass spectroscopy, ex vivo imaging, and cell-culture models.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD in the biomedical sciences (genetics, cell/developmental, or molecular biology) or a closely related discipline required.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Relevant lab experience required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Prior experience with mouse models and survival surgeries.
- Extensive microscopy (confocal, spinning disk) and image analysis (Imaris, etc.)
- Ability to work independently to design and analyze experiments, write grant applications, willingness to read/review manuscripts that will be developed with on-the-job training.
