Minimum Qualifications

• Qualified candidates for this position will have at least 10 years of professional practice in information systems with cybersecurity as their field of expertise
• Qualified candidates must hold at least a Master's degree in Information Systems or related specialization with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the area of instruction.

Areas of Interest (No Minimum Level Required)

• Qualified candidates should possess professional competence and experience that will benefit the CIS and Cybersecurity program in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.
• Qualified candidates should have demonstrated ability to perform teaching duties associated with the position.
• Qualified candidates should possess expertise/knowledge in multiple areas of cybersecurity and information systems including: networking, scripting and programming, network defense, governance, risk management, compliance, cryptography, assurance, vulnerability analysis, and/or forensics.
• Additionally, expertise/knowledge in the areas of database, systems analysis and design, and business analytics is desirable.

License/Certification Required
For courses leading to certification, faculty must either hold a current version of the certification or make a good faith effort to obtain the certification in a timely manner.
