Procurement Project Manager
Job Description
The Procurement Project Manager leads cross‑functional procurement projects and operational improvement initiatives that support efficient, compliant, and strategic purchasing activities for the university. The role manages project planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, and process optimization across Procurement Services and university departments. Responsibilities include leading sourcing‑related projects, supporting policy and system enhancements, developing operational analytics, and contributing to departmental strategic planning.
In addition, the role coordinates supplier engagement activities—including support for the university’s Small, Women‑Owned, and Minority‑Owned (SWaM) utilization efforts. This includes identifying supplier opportunities, communicating procurement forecasts, and helping broaden the university’s competitive vendor landscape.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in procurement, project management, sourcing, or contracting.
- Strong project‑management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to interpret procurement policies and compliance requirements.
- Experience with reporting, data analysis, and business systems.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher‑education or public‑sector procurement.
- Familiarity with SWaM programs or supplier‑diversity initiatives.
- Professional certifications (PMP, CPPB/CPPO).
- Experience with eVA or ERP procurement modules.
