Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Professional Academic Advisor and Student Success Coach I, serves as a holistic academic advisor and success coach, from enrollment through graduation, providing developmental, learning-centered guidance that empowers students to make informed academic, personal, and career decisions.
Grounded in NACADA Core Competencies and the institution's mission, this role promotes student learning, persistence, and timely degree completion through proactive, student-centered advising. The Advisor supports students primarily through the first- and second-year experience, serving as a wraparound success partner who fosters belonging, encourages self-efficacy, and connects students to academic and support resources essential for successful transitions and sustained progress toward graduation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior knowledge and engagement with NACADA.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with student information systems and advising technologies.
- Understanding of early alert, CRM, or retention platforms (e.g., EAB Navigate, Starfish, Anthology).
