Professor of Practice for Instructional Design and Technology and Faculty Lead, Center for Learning Innovation
The Professor of Practice for Instructional Design and Technology and Faculty Lead, Center for Learning Innovation (CLI) serves as the lead faculty member for this endowed center within the LaFetra College of Education (LFCE). This full-time, non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty position has no classroom teaching obligations and combines strategic leadership, faculty support, and hands-on instructional design to advance technology-enhanced teaching and learning across LFCE programs.
A key focus of this role is providing direct instructional design support to LFCE programs expanding online to meet the needs of today’s learners, ensuring high-quality, accessible, and competitive online and hybrid offerings. The Faculty Lead will collaborate with faculty to design and enhance courses that engage students, meet accreditation standards, and align with market demands for flexible learning options.
The Faculty Lead works under the supervision of the Associate Dean and in close partnership with the CLI Instructional Technologist. The Professor of Practice focuses on pedagogy, instructional design, and learning outcomes, while the Instructional Technologist manages technical configuration, troubleshooting, and platform support. Together, they deliver coordinated, high-quality support to LFCE faculty.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education:
- Master’s degree in educational technology, instructional design, information technology, or a related field.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in instructional design or educational technology, preferably in higher education or professional training.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing high-quality online and hybrid courses.
- Proficiency with D2L Brightspace (LFCE’s learning management system) and familiarity with Canvas and Blackboard to ensure cross-platform adaptability.
- Proficiency with multimedia tools (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite) and emerging learning technologies.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and universal design principles.

- Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in a relevant field.

- Experience leading online program design initiatives in higher education.
- Experience designing faculty development programs in instructional technology.

Salary Range
Maximum: $75,865
