Job Description
The College of Professional and Continuing Studies is seeking a Program Administrator for our Industry Partnership Programs which includes OU Economic Development Institute, OU Lean Institute, Laurance Reid Gas Conditioning Conference, Blowout Prevention School, Corrosion Control Conference, Gas Conditioning Short Course.
The successful candidate will have strong business and entrepreneurial experience - these programs are essentially small businesses. Responsible for strategic direction to ensure relevancy and quality, promotion / marketing to grow attendance, administrative/logistical oversight. Also, will participate in prospective new program identification and if approved, implementation. This is an onsite, full-time position.
Responsibilities will include:
- Direction of program administration, implementation, tracking and budget development
- Oversee all (6) Industry Partnerships programs, ensure effective operations and alignment with university policies.
- Develop an overarching vision and strategy for programs
- Apply business and entrepreneurial strategies to strengthen financial performance, enhance program reach, and increase participation levels.
- Establish operational and strategic unit goals
- Implement proactive approaches to improve instructional quality and assess program effectiveness using data-driven evaluation tools.
- Develop, implement, and interpret policies and practices for the program
- Provide oversight of budgets, staff supervision, and fiscal operations to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Explore and create new program opportunities (and growth)
- Coordinate marketing, communications, and vendor relations to execute high-quality conferences, courses, and events.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners, constituents and campus staff to foster program growth
- Build strong relationships with strategic partners, industry stakeholders, governance boards, and campus constituents.
- Serve on various committees and represent the program to the public and client groups
- Communicate regularly with college leadership on outcomes, opportunities, and challenges.
- Perform related duties as assigned
- To successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
Required Education: Master's degree, AND:
- 24 months related experience
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 72 months experience in lieu of the Master's degree for a total of 96 months related experience.
Skills:
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and staff
- Ability to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
- Ability to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
- Ability to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
- Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Physical: Communicate effectively. Engage in repetitive motion.
- Environmental: Standard office environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies. Overnight, multi-day travel required for program events 2-3 times per year.
Departmental Preferences:
- 48 months related experience in industry or adult higher education preferred
Supervision: This position will supervise four Senior Program Coordinators, one Program Manager, and one temporary employee.
