About This Role
Department/Division Introduction
The School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development is an exciting and entrepreneurial office within the College, which offers a wide variety of non-credit classes, certification programs, seminars, and training sessions for the community. These offerings are focused on revitalizing careers, upgrading skills and credentials, growing businesses, and pursuing pastimes and passions. Additionally, the HCCC Center for Business & Industry (CBI) is the area leader in developing and delivering educational classes and programs for Hudson County’s businesses, organizations and individuals. What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Director, Gateway to Innovation, The Grant Program Assistant’s essential function is to perform routine to complex clerical and technical accounting grants management functions including monitoring financial administration such as accounting procedures to track expenditures, maintaining adequate internal control systems, assisting with financial audits, perform budget analysis, coordinate and gather student activity is tracked efficiently, prepare reports, monitor compliance with grant regulations, summarize and report the result of grant activities. This is a part-time grant-funded position.
Summary of Duties
What You’ll Need
- Associate’s degree or 2 years of related experience, to include administrative experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience working in a multicultural, urban environment coordinating workforce training activities in higher education and/or a public workforce setting.
- Proficiency working with Smartsheet, various computer software programs including Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
- Proficiency with social media posting, captions, and media uploads.
- Proven ability to manage up and down to achieve successful results.
- Technology Skills: The department relies on technology to scale its efforts. We need individuals skilled in database management, spreadsheets, video conferencing, email management, word processing, and electronic presentations.
- Engagement Skills: This concept is robust and inclusive – engaging internal and external constituents for the first time, customer services skills, and marketing skills. Attention to detail and the ability to write well impacts engagement. Qualifications
