Description

The targeted salary range for this position is $3,468 - $3,500 per month. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

The Program Coordinator for the Achieve Program is responsible for the daily operations of the student tutoring lab, with a focus on data management, service delivery, and logistical operations. Elements of direct supervision of student employees, oversight of service provision, and clear communication among stakeholders in the program will also be part of the position. This role provides delivery and management of tutorial services, ensures compliance with university policy and program best practices, and implements initiatives that promote student success. The Program Coordinator coordinates events and workshops, contributes to policy development, staff performance evaluation, data-driven program assessment, and continuous quality improvement. This position plays a key role in advancing the Achieve Program’s mission to support students with learning differences through individualized tutorial support.

Examples of Duties

  • Manage phone and other communications to all staff.
  • Direct student employee staff in their duties in the Student lab.
  • Ensure communication and compliance with directives for student employees.
  • Manage, prepare, and review payroll (time tracking spreadsheet).
  • Review hours and efficiency of student employees weekly and provide recommendations.
  • Manage and maintain the booking system used by student employees.
  • Lead and direct student employees to work opportunities with clients.
  • Daily communication on strategies to employ with students.
  • Daily communication with graduate assistant staff and administrators regarding student use of services, and efficacy of interactions.
  • Monitor resources in the lab, and place orders during the appropriate times.
  • Configure the Student Lab space for different events and returning the space back to its original configuration. General update and maintenance of lab equipment (computers, monitors, calculators, whiteboards, etc.)
  • Other duties as required for positive growth and development of services and the lab space.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A total of two (2) years (24 months) in education, training and/or work experience managing student employees and/or students in a resource lab. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
  • Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
  • Preferred proficiency using Microsoft Suite products including Excel, Forms, Booking, Teams, and Word.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.

About Civil Service Examination/Testing: The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of application materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, your application will move forward for examination/testing in which you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. This score will be emailed to the email address noted on your application. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview.
