Program Coordinator
The Program Coordinator supports the Director of Fulbright Scholar and Fulbright-Hays Programs in the Office of International Affairs with the administration of international grants and fellowships. This role focuses primarily on the U.S. Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays graduate student programs and the Fulbright Visiting Student and Scholar Program, which brings international academics to Ohio State.
The coordinator will assist in cultivating and maintaining a Fulbright-friendly culture on campus by building collaborative relationships with faculty, department chairs, and other internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include promoting Fulbright programs, recruiting applicants, and providing comprehensive guidance throughout the grant-writing and application process, particularly as part of graduate student advising.
Additional duties include serving as a central clearinghouse for all Fulbright activities on campus, organizing Fulbright Week, managing program publicity, and coordinating meetings, workshops, presentations, and outreach efforts. The coordinator will also work closely with the Undergraduate Fellowship Office and the Graduate School to ensure accurate fee authorizations and address stipend-related issues for fellows.
This role involves maintaining Fulbright awardee databases, compiling statistical information, and preparing standard and special reports, studies, summaries, and analyses as needed.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 4 years of related work experience, preferably in higher education

- Background in academic advising, fellowship coaching, research, or a related field
- Proven ability to:
- Manage complex projects and meet deadlines
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Communicate effectively with diverse groups (faculty, students, government agencies, university administration)
- Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, and Adobe programs
Desired Qualifications
- Masters degree and/or international experience
- Knowledge of a foreign language (preferred)
- History of success with competitive fellowships
- Experience working in a global context with international partners and institutions
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Understanding trends and opportunities in international education
- Familiarity with global higher education systems and pedagogical models
- Knowledge of competitive global fellowships and their processes (strongly preferred)

This position is a two-year appointment with the possibility of renewal.
The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $51,500 - $67,250. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
