Program Coordinator I
Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the School of Arts and Sciences – Humanities department. Reporting to the HUM Assistant Director, the Program Coordinator I provides comprehensive administrative support to the SAS Department of Jewish Studies.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Coordinates with the department's daily operations, programs, and projects, while managing records, reports, and documentation in compliance with University and SAS policies.
- Oversees fiscal processes, procurement, expense reimbursements, course scheduling, and human resources and academic personnel transactions.
- Serves as the primary administrative support to the Department Chair and acts as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manages scheduling and logistics for departmental events and meetings, including space reservations, catering, and travel arrangements.
- Creates and distributes departmental communications and promotional materials, maintaining listservs and databases, and ensuring accurate documentation for reporting and compliance.
- Handles routine and non-routine tasks with minimal supervision, drafts and processes correspondence, and supports special projects and cross-departmental initiatives within the SAS Humanities Division.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach. A minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
