Advertised Job Summary: National Institutes of Health-funded clinical trial, Veggie Vouchers, is seeking a highly organized and motivated Program Coordinator to support and manage the day-to-day operations of assigned research projects. This role will oversee project staff, ensure quality assurance in study-related activities, and help drive successful execution of research protocols. Key responsibilities include: Coordinating recruitment, retention, and data collection protocols. Training, supervising, and evaluating data collection staff. Tracking study activities and maintaining detailed records. Preparing and submitting IRB materials. Developing and managing schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks. Presenting project updates in meetings with investigators, staff, and community partners. The position requires occasional local and regional travel (with reimbursement per university policies) as well as availability during evenings and weekends to support data collection activities. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience: Master’s degree in area of research specialty.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Public Health, or related field, and 1 year of related research program experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Expertise in the use of basic exercise testing equipment, personal computers, and the Internet. A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package. Experience or interest in nutrition in children or youth. Strong verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with school and doctor’s office personnel, children and adolescents, parents, and the community at large.
- Job Duty: Develop, in coordination with study PIs, recruitment and retention protocols and procedures for research studies related to public health programs. Development of protocols will lead to the preparation and submission of Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials to the University’s Office of Research Compliance. Train and evaluate data collection staff on said protocols and procedures. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 25
- Job Duty: Coordinate and manage day-to-day activities of assigned research projects, with an emphasis on recruitment, retention, and data collection, to maintain continuity of the project and ensure all milestones are met appropriately and promptly. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 30
- Job Duty: Supervise, evaluate, and oversee work assignments of staff members. Ensure data collection and participant communication tasks are completed promptly. Ensure project documentation is maintained appropriately, and updates are reported regularly to the funding agency. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 25
- Job Duty: Organize, attend, and participate in community partner meetings to present progress reports of grant activities to investigators and staff. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 10
