Position Summary
The Perfusion Program Manager provides administrative support for the Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion (MSCP) program. They ensure that activities are carried out in compliance with program policies and relevant legal standards, manage multimedia communications, support student recruitment and admissions efforts, provide administrative support to the program director, serve on the program advisory council, and manage other operational activities as assigned. In consultation with senior program leaders, they develop processes and implement new programs. They have a measurable impact within the department and influence service delivery in the school, department, or business unit. The Perfusion Program Manager works under intermittent supervision, resolving routine issues independently, and reports to the Director of the Perfusion Program.
Job Duties
- Provide clerical support to the Perfusion Program Director.
- Manage the Perfusion Program Director’s calendar as directed.
- Provide operational and administrative support for the Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion program.
- Prepare student applications for admissions review and process admission decisions.
- Coordinate programmatic assessment and evaluation activities.
- Communicate with guest speakers/lecturers regarding their needs and the content objectives.
- Work directly with program faculty to coordinate curricular activities.
- Assist current and potential students with questions on university and program policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative support to teaching and advising faculty.
- Maintain student records in accordance with state and university policies and specialty accreditation standards
- Collect data and generate program-related statistical reports.
- Plan, coordinate, and administer student scholarship, professional meeting support, and clinical travel support funds.
- Track student attainment of program outcomes in accordance with the university and regional, and specialty accreditation standards.
- Serve as a member and administrative advisor to the Program Advisory Council.
- Develop and execute external communications for the alumni community, including the Alumni newsletter.
- Manages the program’s social media platforms.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems
- Ability to evaluate program performance, summarize findings, communicate results, and form an action plan
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions
- Ability to clearly articulate specific information in the area of project management
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Provide direct support to leaders, as needed
- Complete tasks without immediate supervision
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Curriculum/adult learning principles certificate
- Educational programming experience
- Proficiency in Banner, Canvas, Liaison, Google Apps, SAS, and Slate
Salary Range: $65,000+ (commensurate with experience)
