The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Columbia Center for Children’s Environmental Health (CCCEH) seeks a Program Manager who will report primarily to Dr. Julie Herbstman, Director of the CCCEH. The individual will coordinate activities in the CCCEH that are part of specific subcontracts for the “neuroimaging studies” from Dr. Amy Margolis at The Ohio State University. Dr. Margolis is contact PI for three parent grants with subcontracts to Dr. Herbstman at CCCEH. The Program Manager will work alongside Dr. Algermissen (program manager at CCCEH) to oversee HR needs, administration, and coordination of data collection activities required for successful execution of the three subcontracts as delineated in the grant timelines.
Responsibilities
HR Operations- 30%
- Liaise with Dr. Algermissen to review all efforts by the neuroimaging research team.
- Develop feedback systems to be delivered by Dr. Algermissen to the team as needed.
- Provide feedback to Dr. Algermissen regarding each research worker for annual reviews conducted by Dr. Algermissen.
Administration- 35%
- Meet with Dr. Algermissen to discuss and monitor appropriateness of caseloads that are managed by research workers on the neuroimaging team.
- Review progress from data collection dashboards on a weekly basis with Dr. Algermissen.
Research/Project Management- 35 %
- Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the neuroimaging data collection team.
- Ensure data collection milestones are met by monitoring weekly progress dashboards.
- Monitor the study budget, including the flow of invoices and daily expenses.
- Monitor progress reporting for federal agencies.
- Train the neuroimaging team in specific procedures for the neuroimaging studies.
- Implement and oversee all regulatory activities for the studies.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with program and project management.
- Prior experience with overseeing data collection teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and superb written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and be able to manage a large research team and set priorities while handling multiple projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Office systems.
- Commitment to inclusion and accessibility in the lab.
