Project Coordinator
Job Summary
Project Coordinators Provide support to the project management function across disciplines (e.g., construction, engineering, operations, technical). Review project proposals to ensure alignment with contract requirements, and issue and track project amendments and related documentation. Perform project coordination and analytical support activities including scheduling and planning, earned value tracking, budget review and cost analysis, and evaluation of scope change impacts. Monitor project timelines and progress, identify variances, and prepare status reports for project managers and leadership. Serve as a key communication liaison by identifying and escalating issues, risks, or additional information needs to project managers and stakeholders, and contributing to the development of practical solutions.
Project Coordinator I (Entry Level)
Provides basic support to project management activities, including review of proposals and tracking of project documentation. Assists with project scheduling, planning, and budget tracking using established tools and processes. Supports cost analysis and scope change documentation; identifies and escalates issues or discrepancies. Monitors project activities and prepares routine status reports. Performs routine assignments under close supervision; limited independent judgment required.
Project Coordinator II (Intermediate Level)
Provides support to project management functions, including review of proposals for contract compliance and identification of risks. Coordinates project documentation and performs analysis related to scheduling, budget, earned value, and scope impacts. Monitors project timelines, identifies variances, and recommends corrective actions. Communicates with project managers and stakeholders to resolve issues and support decision-making. Performs moderately complex assignments under general supervision; exercises independent judgment within established guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels: Project Coordinator, I: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree. Project Coordinator, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
