Appointment: Regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) position.
Work Location: This position is based in Tacoma, WA, and is hybrid eligible (minimum of 3 days on-site) after a successful evaluation period.

Position Summary:
The Marketing & Communications Project Coordinator provides essential support to the marketing and communications team by managing the flow of projects and ensuring they are completed efficiently. Reporting to the web manager, this role focuses on the coordination and traffic management of existing projects, acting as the central hub for all tasks and communications. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator with a proven ability to keep projects on track.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Project Traffic Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for project intake and workflow. Manage and prioritize all incoming requests, assigning tasks to the appropriate team member, and tracking their progress from start to finish. Ensure all project details, including scope, deadlines, and deliverables, are clearly documented and communicated.
- Coordination & Communication: Facilitate seamless communication among team members and stakeholders. Schedule and lead project check-in meetings, summarize action items, and distribute timely status updates. Proactively identify potential roadblocks and work with MarCom team members to resolve issues, ensuring projects stay on schedule.
- Administrative Support: Maintain and update the project management system (Lytho, Wrike), ensuring all project information is accurate and current. Manage project files and documentation, and generate reports on project status and team workload as needed.
- Process Improvement: Assist in the refinement of existing workflows and processes to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks. Support the implementation of new tools or procedures that help the team operate more effectively.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (for example, communications, business) or equivalent experience. A minimum of two years of experience in a project coordination, preferably within a marketing, communications, or creative environment.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of project management fundamentals and workflow processes.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with project management software and the Google Workspace.
- A collaborative mindset with a focus on supporting the team to achieve shared goals.
- Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community
Compensation and Benefits:
The anticipated range for this position is $20.25 to $21.45 per hour. Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.

- Positions that work less than .75 FTE (1,560 hours per year) do not qualify for long-term disability or education benefits.
- Positions that work less than .50 FTE (1,040 hours per year) will accrue paid sick leave but are not eligible for additional benefits.
- Temporary positions that work at least .50 FTE (1,040 hours per year) will be eligible for benefits.
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
