Job Summary

The Prospect Development Manager utilizes a broad range of research techniques, tools, and approaches to identify and qualify major gift prospects including corporations, foundations, and individuals. This position works directly with frontline fundraisers to identify and track prospects as they move through the donor lifecycle. This position is critical to GGC's ability to attract and retain significant donors to the institution. This position may require working on some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reactive and proactive research using a number of sources to increase the pool of potential prospects.
  • Interpret and synthesize large volumes of information and complex financial, legal and technical language into concise summary information to provide to frontline fundraisers and leadership in a range of written formats.
  • Assist in building a comprehensive program of prospect management; attend and lead prospect meetings and prepare required materials.
  • Manage solicitation clearance process, assist with grant proposal submission and grant reporting.
  • Enter prospect tracking data, constituent information and portfolio assignments into the donor/alumni database, maintain portfolio assignment, prospect research, and proposal data and update procedures.
  • Design and run advanced queries, exports, and reports in Raiser’s Edge to meet regular reporting needs as well as individual data requests.
  • Contribute to the development of coding structures and data management procedures as they relate to prospect research and management.
  • Act as back-up gift processor during times of high volume or staff vacancy. Support events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in prospect research, grant writing, and/or fundraising is preferred
  • Familiarity with or fluency in languages other than English
  • One to three years of experience in a development office using Raiser’s Edge or a similar relational database.

Proposed Salary

45,300 - 56,600

Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Demonstrate high level ability to craft written communication with brevity, accuracy, and relevance to audience and need.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat. Experience with ClickUp or other project management tools.
  • Understanding of and facility with social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X (fka Twitter).
  • High-level skills in research and logical synthesis, and understanding of basic business and personal finance concepts.
  • High-level attention to detail and data entry skills.
  • Innate sense of curiosity.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly.
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
