Job Summary
The Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) Protection Services seeks a highly motivated and dependable individual to support the team while working in an energetic and collaborative environment. The UMFA is the state and the University fine arts museum, serving as a vital cultural resource for Utah and the broader region. Established in 1914, the Museum stewards an encyclopedic collection of more than 22,000 objects representing 5,000 years of human creativity across the globe.
Responsibilities
Building Security and Safety: Secure UMFA buildings to prevent theft and property damage by locking and unlocking doors, turning off lights and electrical devices after hours, and applying preventive measures to minimize hazards. Patrols and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of the UMFA, inspecting doors, windows, and controlled spaces. Emergency Response and Support: Assist the Fire Department and First Responders during emergencies. Customer Service and Community Support: Work closely with other front of house teams, management, and the public. Log Maintenance and Incident Reporting: Maintain accurate logs of security activities and incidents.
Minimum Qualifications
1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience. Facilities Security Specialist, I: Requires little to no related experience.
Preferences
Some customer service experience; one year security experience or equivalency; successfully pass a background check; demonstrated communications skills; and a commitment to providing excellent customer service required. A valid Utah Driver's License preferred. CPR and AED certification preferred.
