Psychology, Assistant/ Associate/Full Professor
Alabama State University, Academic Affairs, Department of Foundations and Psychology, invites applications to fill the position of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Psychology. This is a tenure track position specializing in Social, Community, Industrial/Organizational, or Clinical psychology. These positions will support our undergraduate psychology program as well as contribute to our innovative Social Psychology and Human Rights program, which emphasizes the intersection of psychology, social justice, and human rights issues within organizational settings.
The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics, organizational psychology, community psychology, or clinical psychology depending on their area of expertise. Additionally, the candidate will participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, work collaboratively with faculty across the university, and contribute to the interdisciplinary nature of the Master of Science in Social Psychology and Human Rights program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Social, Community, Industrial/Organizational, or Clinical psychology by the time of appointment. They should demonstrate excellence in university-level teaching, a commitment to establishing a program of research and to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment for all students. Preferred qualifications include experience with community engagement, collaboration, and securing external research funding.
It is to be noted that for the purpose of continuous improvement of faculty qualifications as faculty members complete advanced degrees, certifications, licenses, etc., the faculty member will send official documentation, within 45 days of hire, to the Office of Human Resources, and the credentialing file in Academic Affairs.
