Psychology Faculty / Community College Faculty
We are filling 2 unlimited full time positions.
Position Responsibilities
This position requires the following knowledge and abilities:
- Teach introductory psychology courses including General Psychology and Developmental Psychology: Lifespan.
- Teach specialized courses, which may include Social Psychology, Child and Adult Development, Psychology of Adjustment, Psychological Disorders, Internship in Psychology, and Introduction to Mental and Behavioral Health Work.
- Teach courses at a variety of times and/or delivery models such as days, evenings, face-to-face in the classroom, in hybrid formats, and online (synchronous and asynchronous).
- Design and teach courses in the approved curriculum using teaching methods that support the success of a diverse student body.
- Assess student learning at the classroom, department/program, and college levels.
- Participate regularly in department tasks, including department meetings, program/curriculum development, program reviews, budgets, schedules, and articulation agreements.
- Participate in service to the college and the greater community, such as college-wide committees, external partnerships, and student activities/clubs.
- Continually develop expertise in the field and in teaching through professional development.
Salary Range
Salary and benefits will be based on the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Salary min: $51,303 - Salary max: $71,893
(*Column max: $94,542*)
*Existing faculty would keep their current salary or candidates with higher education levels could be placed higher in the salary range.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology or Master’s with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in psychology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the community/technical college level. Must be willing and prepared to teach primarily face-to-face classes, which could include evening sections.
- Demonstrated college-level teaching experience in Social Psychology, Child and Adult Development, Psychology of Adjustment, or Psychological Disorders.
- Experience and commitment to overseeing internship coordination, supervising student placements, and assisting in coordinating our Mental and Behavioral Health Work certificate programs.
- Experience in fostering an equity-focused working and learning environment while serving a culturally, ethnically/racially, economically, and linguistically diverse college community.
