We are searching for an experienced PT Fashion Media Specialist at our Goldsmith Campus - Westchester campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The part-time Fashion Media Specialist provides technical services and operational support to the Fashion Design department. The Fashion Media Specialist assists with photographic and video special projects for the department utilizing technical software Premiere Pro, ZoomH4N, and Handy Audio Recorder. The work schedule for this position is 20 hours per week. This position reports directly to the department's Administrative Director and Show Producer.
CORE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Documents all fashion mentor events such as fittings, appearances, and lectures using an HD Camera & a H4N Handy Recorder. Edits video and audio using Premiere Pro & Zoom H4N, Handy Audio Recorder. Manages fashion department web page: updates content, categories, photos and any additional new information. Researches and prepares presentations, graphics for slides, overhead projections, etc. for chair, faculty and staff. Assists in the development, layout design, and preparation of dynamic and creative presentations for the department. Prepares computerized typeset documents. Compresses and/or reformats files for video projects, presentations, and web output. Creates fashion photo proof sheets of all events and fittings for supervisory review and approval. Makes files accessible in a variety of formats. Produces graphics as needed for the Department. Scans and archives student work. Creates signage for campus displays. Checks on fashion classroom labs during scheduled work shifts to resolve problems or issues. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must be responsive to work-related phone calls and emails during non-business hours on occasion.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years related experience required. Quality of work and attention to detail is required. Demonstrated skill as a photographer and videographer. Must have photo and video editing, color matching and correction, creative re-touching, page layout and layout design, typography, and publishing skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Mac OS systems and all Adobe Creative Suite programs, including Bridge, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Zoom H4N Handy Audio Recorder. Experience working with a multi-platform environment of networks, operating systems & applications is preferred. Able to convey technical concepts & information to staff as well as a variety of student skill levels is important, good communication is vital.
PREFERRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
BFA degree preferred, work experience can be considered in lieu of degree. Demonstrated proficiency in Mac OS systems and all Adobe Creative Suite programs including Bridge, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Zoom H4N Handy Audio Recorder. Experience working with a multi-platform environment of networks, operating systems & applications is preferred. Able to convey technical concepts & information to staff as well as a variety of student skill levels is important, good communication is vital.
