JOB SUMMARY (De Anza College):

De Anza College Athletics is committed to guiding diverse students towards success in academics, athletic competition and citizenship, by providing opportunities where students have access to resources in their growth. The Part-Time Head Women's Basketball Coach will work directly with student-athletes, fellow faculty/coaches, and staff to promote all facets of student success and student development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Standard duties expected of all part-time faculty include the performance of instructional, counselor or librarian duties as assigned, evaluation and assessment of student work including SLOs and PLOs, and submission of grades.
2. Coach and supervise the Women's Basketball team during practice and games.
3. Provide the organization, direction, and administration of the women's basketball program this includes recruiting of participants from diverse ethnic groups.
4. Have a current Class B Driver License and medical card, and/or comply with any new DMV policies and requirements.
5. Be current on CCCAA and Coast Conference, and De Anza rules, policies and guidelines.
6. Be responsible for home game management staff.
7. Schedule contests and manage all aspects of the WBB program.
8. Develop and execute a fundraising program for Women's Basketball.
9. Maintain active involvement with student activities, sports promotion and Athletic Department fundraising.
10. Develop an off-season strength and conditioning program.
11. Monitor academic progress to student-athletes and actively assist students in the four-year transfer program.
12. Attend coaches (Conference, Nor Cal and State), athletics and faculty meetings.
13. Assignments may include weekends and/or evenings as well as holidays.
14. Develop curriculum and participate in other duties consistent with part-time faculty responsibilities.

1. Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
2. Minimum Qualifications for this position as defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges.
