Job Description
This requisition is to establish a candidate pool for PVAMU students who are interested in participating in the PV STEP Intern program for Summer 2026. This is a candidate pool only and is ONLY open to PVAMU students.
Multiple Vacant Positions Available. Please ONLY submit your application if you are interested in working in one of the following departments: BUSINESS AFFAIRS (Auxiliary Services, Campus Planning & Space Management, Center for Information Technology Excellence (CITE), Facilities & Risk Management, Financial Management Services, Procurement & Disbursement Service); STRATEGY & TRANSFORMATION (Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, University Compliance, University Police Department); STUDENT AFFAIRS (Career Services, Dean of Students, Disability & Health Services, Enrollment Management, Housing & Residential Life, International Programs, Multicultural Affairs, Rec Sports & Athletics, University Advancement, Veterans Services).
The PV STEP Intern, under general supervision, will assist the department in which they are hired with daily operations, special projects, and other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor. This position is for a 10-week program (06/15/2026 - 8/21/2026), up to 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Duties will vary by departmental need, but include specific goals and/or projects related to the student’s chosen career path that must be completed by the end of the 10-week employment period. Students must commit to the entire program and provide a “Project Summary” at the end.
Required Education and Experience
- Current PVAMU undergraduate or graduate student
- Successfully completed courses during the Spring 2026 semester
- Enrolled in the Summer 2026 semester or preregistered for the Fall 2026 semester
- Junior level classification or higher
- Minimum of 2.5 GPA
- Good academic standing
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent customer service abilities
