Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

This position serves as an administrative point of contact for recruitment management of SHRA and EHRA non-faculty staff positions. Primary responsibilities of this role is to post vacancies, manage PeopleAdmin ATS, and provide support to hiring managers through advising on recruitment policies, procedures, and best practices. This position is instrumental in building our professional and support staff workforce, and maintaining compliance to all federal, state, and university system employment policies. This individual will be responsible for ensuring recruitment efforts align with the University’s vision, mission, and strategic goals. The Talent Solutions Consultant will work with the Talent Solutions Manager and departmental hiring managers in planning, developing, and implementing recruiting strategies. This position will be responsible for the refinement of hiring processes and workflows to support operational efficiency. The position will collaborate with Talent Solutions team members to evaluate and streamline processes and develop innovative recruitment strategies to create high-quality candidate pools based on current and future University needs.

This is a pooled posting in which the department is recruiting to fill (2) Recruitment Operations Specialist vacancies. Applicants will be considered for all positions and offers will be extended to selected candidates based on the individual’s education and experience.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is a progressive university offering fully accredited academic programs to over 15,000 students. The University has over 1,900 permanent, currently employed faculty and staff. The University is engaged in a transformational process to become an interdisciplinary University with ambitious goals involving expanding resources, globalization, and information technology leadership and establishing partnerships throughout the state and community. The Division of Human Resources provides comprehensive programs and services to support, attract and retain high performing faculty and staff at the University, as well as, to develop an interdisciplinary workforce to effectively serve the University in support of its mission. North Carolina A&T State University HR Talent Solutions Unit is comprised of a team of recruiters (coordinating SHRA, EHRA non-faculty, Temporary, Student and New Hire Compliance) for the university. The Talent Solutions unit is being restructured to bolster hiring effectiveness and support the Vice Chancellor in executing key HR initiatives. Talent Solutions provides services and consultation to campus & community customers involved in the recruitment & selection processes.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
One year of work experience where recruitment was the primary function.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Knowledge of Federal and State employment and hiring laws and regulations. Experience in developing recruitment strategies and targeted recruitment efforts for difficult to fill positions, experience working in applicant tracking systems (PeopleAdmin) preferred. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills; competency in MS Office with particular focus on Word and Excel; ability to work with sensitive confidential data and information. Skills: project management, conflict resolution, effective written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Adaptability to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands and dealing with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Experience building rapport, managing relationships, and influencing stakeholders.
