Research Assistant (Institute of Agriculture)
Job Description:
- Participate in the analysis of B-genome containing canola at cellular and molecular levels.
- Plant growth management and experimental setup.
- Part-time (0.6 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 3 years.
- Base salary range: $77,205 – $82,011 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the opportunity
- Manage plant growth experiments, including sowing, fertilising, monitoring, crossing, and harvesting.
- Conduct preliminary data analysis and assist with cellular and molecular investigations of B-genome plants.
- Maintain consumable supplies and provide regular progress updates to the Senior Research Fellow.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency.
- Experience in plant management in glasshouse or controlled environment.
- Knowledge in crop genetics and breeding is essential.
- Knowledge in plant cytology and molecular biology is ideal.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
