Research Assistant
This is a part-time position (5-10 hours/week) at NYU Silver School of Social Work, supporting research on an intervention project with young adults experiencing homelessness in Houston, Texas.

Projects
The RA will support the research of Dr. Sarah Narendorf on an intervention project with young adults experiencing homelessness in Houston, Texas. Activities include follow-up research interviews with young adults both in person and online, tracking and retaining participants, regular team meetings and debriefings of intervention activities, data analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct follow-up quantitative structured interviews
- Use social media and other outreach methods for participant retention and follow-up
- Carry out in-depth qualitative interviews with participants
- Support activities of participatory research team
- Conduct participant assessments in Qualtrics and track them in REDCap
- Schedule appointments and manage administrative tasks
- Perform additional related duties as needed
Performance Evaluation Procedure
The employee will meet with the PI on a weekly basis to discuss completed tasks and plan activities for the following week. During these meetings, the employee will also discuss professional development goals.
Required Education, Experience Skills and Abilities
- Current or recent graduate student in public health, nursing, social work, psychology, or other social/behavioral science living in Houston, Texas
- Experience working on a research study
- Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
- Experience with young adults experiencing homelessness
- Interest in intervention research
- Comfort in conducting in-person research interviews in a variety of settings
- Commitment to racial justice, social justice, and social equity
- Excellent organizational and technical skills including using REDCap
- Must have a high level of attention to detail, flexibility, ability to work on a team, and punctuality
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Knowledge of IRB protocols
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Social media and communication skills
