Job Description:

Summary:

The Research Assistant will use the library databases to find materials for an antiracist research project. The Research Assistant should be able to distinguish between credible and less-than-credible books, films, and articles. The Research Assistant should also have strong reading and writing skills and must be able to commit 5 hours a week.

Essential Functions:

• Use the library databases to find materials for an antiracist research project.
• Distinguish between credible and less-than-credible books, films, and articles.
• Keep research findings organized for the writer in residence.
• Learn and conduct editorial work on the project.
• Collaborate with the professor on ongoing research projects.
• Conduct literature reviews and assist in data collection and analysis.
• Contribute to the preparation of research publications and presentations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-Time.
• 5 hours per week.

Salary Range:

• $17.95 per hour.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• This position is available only to enrolled American University students with a Federal Work Study Award.
