Your next career opportunity
As the Research Infrastructure Development Manager, you will spearhead the advancement of the University's collaborative research infrastructure strategy, enhancing coordination and platform provisioning. You'll lead a dedicated team, driving continuous improvement in processes and systems, while playing a pivotal role in attracting and retaining top-tier research staff. This position offers you the chance to work across organisational boundaries, influencing key decisions and contributing to the University's research excellence.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead Strategic Infrastructure Initiatives: Design, implement, and continuously improve processes and systems for efficient platform management.
  • Manage Collaborative Programs: Oversee the Melbourne Collaborative Research Infrastructure Program, ensuring optimal budget management and performance reporting.
  • Drive Costing and Pricing Projects: Lead the Research Platform Costing and Pricing project to optimise cross-organisational pricing and cost recovery.
  • Enhance Research Infrastructure Operations: Analyse and report on operations to inform strategic planning and future capability initiatives.
You may be a great fit if:
You will have a strong background in managing research infrastructure platforms, coupled with excellent communication and leadership skills, enabling you to influence stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives in a complex University environment.
You may also:
  • Hold a tertiary degree in a technical or business discipline with relevant experience.
  • Possess expertise in operational management of research infrastructure and platform technologies.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to influence stakeholders at various levels.
  • Have proven project management and process design capabilities with attention to detail.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills, with experience in team management and strategic planning.

Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) is a specialist team dedicated to enabling the University's research and innovation mission working closely with our academic and professional colleagues, industry partners, funding, and government agencies.
