College of Medicine and Public Health

At the College of Medicine and Public Health, we deliver clinical, population and lab-based research, integrated teaching programs and high-quality clinical services. Our footprint reaches out from our world class teaching hospital at the Flinders Medical Centre in South Australia to multiple rural clinical locations all the way to Darwin in the Northern Territory. Our research and teaching equip the next generation of leaders and innovators with the skill, commitment, and vision to protect vulnerable communities and truly advance health outcomes. It is at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role

The Stores and Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Health and Medical Research Building’s delivery dock, consumables store, and central laboratory gas store. Working with broad autonomy, this position oversees stock management, incoming and outgoing deliveries, and safe handling of laboratory consumables, chemicals, and gases. The role is highly service‑oriented, collaborating closely with technical staff, researchers, and stakeholders to maintain best‑practice logistical support and exceptional customer service across the facility.

  • Coordinating day‑to‑day operations of the HMRB loading dock, consumables store and laboratory gas store, ensuring timely and accurate delivery, storage, and distribution processes.
  • Managing stock levels and inventory records, including ordering, replenishment, stocktakes, reporting, and supplier liaison.
  • Ensuring safe storage and compliance in handling hazardous materials, clinical waste, and laboratory supplies in line with WHS and University policies.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing proactive, customer‑focused support and resolving enquiries efficiently.

Through being a key enabler of operational excellence and integrity in the delivery of essential research support services, this position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan to changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters, by 2035.

About You

You’re an organised, proactive professional with strong experience in technical or logistics‑focused environments, bringing a high level of accuracy, initiative, and customer‑centred service. You thrive in fast‑paced research settings, can manage competing priorities with confidence, and build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Your strong technical capability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety make you a trusted and reliable contributor to daily operations.

  • Demonstrated experience in technical scientific environments or managing loading dock/receivals operations, supported by relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Strong skills in inventory management, data extraction and reporting, with confidence using IT systems and databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • High‑level organisational and problem‑solving abilities, including sound judgement, attention to detail, and adherence to WHS requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
