Research Laboratory Tech Sr
Aging is an inevitable natural process that impacts quality of life and increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In the Rocha lab we use animal and human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived cardiovascular models to understand how aging impact cardiovascular function. If you are highly motivated, passionate for science and want to work with aging, come join Dr. Rocha’s lab and take part of a new and exciting research program to find new ways to mitigate the impacts of aging on the cardiovascular system.
Perform stem cell culture, maintenance and stem cell directed differentiation. Perform experiments with animal models. Perform more complex experimental procedures such as optical mapping, Q-PCR, western blots, ELISA, immunofluorescence, microscopy and image analysis. Execute designated experiments and perform basic translation and interpretation data. Assist in some report writing and responsible for completing lab documentation for safety inspections. Greater autonomy in conducting and assisting in the design of phases of research projects.
- Bachelors degree
- 2-3 years of experience
- Masters in related area
Pluripotent stem cells maintenance and differentiation require constant attention for successful completion of projects and due to the nature of this cells, weekend work rotation is expected.
