- Remuneration: $122,852 to $134,385 pa (full-time equivalent) (HEW7) (inclusive of $103,811 to $113,557 salary pa (full-time equivalent)17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Research Monitoring and Compliance Officer to join Office of Research Ethics and Integrity, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.
The Research Monitoring and Compliance Officer (RMCO) conducts post approval monitoring of research activities to support the delivery of high quality and ethical research at QUT. Areas of focus include: - Supporting monitoring activities related to research activities, research ethics committees and clinical trials. - Providing advice and guidance to the research community to help address any issues identified by monitoring activities. - Supporting the review of policy, procedures and guidelines to ensure governance arrangements are in place to monitor research quality. This position reports to the Research Governance and Compliance Coordinator for supervision, workload management and for Performance Planning and Review (PPR). This appointment will be offered on a part time basis, 2.5 days (19.25 h) per week for 10 months. Location: QUT, Kelvin Grove campus.

The Portfolio is comprised of five units including Research Strategy and Policy, Research Infrastructure, Sustainability Strategy, Office of Research Services and Office of Research Ethics and Integrity. Office of Research Ethics and Integrity (OREI) supports researchers by providing education, guidance, process and advice for research ethics, biosafety and responsible research practices to embed a high quality research culture at the University..
What you need to succeed
1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience.
2. Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures and provide accurate advice to stakeholders, preferably in a research environment.
3. Knowledge of research governance principles in the higher education sector and the regulatory environment relating to clinical trials, human research and the use of animals for scientific purposes.
4. Demonstrated ability to apply principles and adapt procedures to make evidence based recommendations to resolve complex issues.
5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms, prepare complex written material, and negotiate, consult and cultivate productive working relationships with senior stakeholders and the broader research community.
