Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research

• Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
• Base salary range: $95,231 – $100,643 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

This position is based within the Rare Disease Genetics and Functional Genomics Group at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, led by Professor Gina Ravenscroft and is part of the UWA Centre for Medical Research.

About the opportunity

• Conduct in-depth telephone and sometimes face-to-face interviews regarding clinical and family history, including prior clinical and genetic testing.
• Coordination of investigations, liaising with healthcare providers and collaborators, assisting with biological sample collection and logistics and maintaining records
• Independently manage day-to-day research tasks with a high degree of responsibility

About you

• A tertiary qualification in biological sciences, biomedical sciences, genetics, or related fields
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with participants across diverse backgrounds
• High level of tact and discretion when discussing sensitive health-related information

Note: A current Working with Children Check, and “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant.
