Applications are open for one Research Studentship(s), within the framework of project/R&D institution "EN-VISION ENVIronmental Sustainability In hOspital settiNgs: Multi-methodological and multicriteria collaborative approaches for promoting environmental-related decision-making in hospitals", reference 2023.17708.ICDT, financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC
Workplan: In line with the development of applied research to support the evaluation of environmental sustainability initiatives at the EN-VISION partner hospitals and a publication in an international journal:
- Design a questionnaire for participants in collaborative processes eliciting MACBETH judgments in the process of constructing multi-criteria models to evaluate environmental sustainability initiatives in a hospital setting;
- Construct a group decision support system (using AI tools) that enables:
- Synthesizing the judgments generated in a), both overall and by group;
- Aggregating these judgments and supporting the conversion of qualitative judgments into quantitative scales for the groups and overall (in combination with the M-MACBETH DSS);
- Visualize participants’ responses overall and the differences between groups;
- Map how AI tools can support participants’ responses;
- Collaborate on the application of the questionnaire and decision support system to case studies with the project’s partner hospitals;
- Prepare a report and materials to disseminate the study’s results.
Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 12 months. It’s expected to begin in September/2026, and cannot be renewed. Where an academic qualification or degree is awarded during the term of the scholarship agreement, the agreement may be completed in accordance with the terms set out therein.

Selection process
Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: Curriculum evaluation and individual interview, with the respective weight of 60% and 40%, respectively (candidates will be evaluated in each dimension in a 0-100 scale).

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
