Research Track -- Assistant or Associate Professor, Department of Medicine (Clinical and Translational Glycoscience Research Center) - Georgetown University Medical Center
The Clinical and Translational Glycoscience Research Center (CTGRC) at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC invites applications for a position of Analytical Scientist with experience in mass spectrometry of proteins and their glycosylation. This person will join an interactive team of mass spectrometrist, informaticians, and glycobiologists to develop workflows for the analysis of (glyco)proteins, their interactions, and applications of the methods to collaborative projects supported by the CTGRC. Experience in chromatographic separations and mass spectrometry of proteins is required; the applicant will supervise the operation of Orbitrap Fusion Lumos w ETD/UVPD (Thermo), Q-exactive (Thermo), and timsTOF Pro (Bruker) mass spectrometers and related chromatographic equipment.
Qualifications: Minimum requirements include: a PhD degree in analytical chemistry or related discipline and a minimum of 7-years hands on experience with mass spectrometry of proteins, and a productive publication record. Experience in glycoproteomics is recommended. Candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work independently, and work efficiently in a collaborative research environment.
