RESEARCHER ASSISTANT
Position Summary
The University of Alabama at Birmingham, General Internal Med & Population Science, is looking for a dedicated Researcher Assistant. This position currently is for an American Heart Association research study focused on hypertension prevention in underrepresented populations. This position requires performing data collection, data entry, and quality assurance; and preparing study-specific outcome reports. This position does require travel to counties across rural Alabama.
General Responsibilities
As a Researcher Assistant, you will contribute to the daily operations of research projects under the close supervision of experienced researchers. This role involves performing standard research tasks, including sample processing, basic data analysis, and maintaining accurate records. Your support will be crucial in helping senior team members execute complex protocols and ensuring the smooth functioning of the lab. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research collaborator contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Travel to and complete participant follow-up visits for studies.
- Complete data entry and perform quality assurance work.
- Prepare study specific outcome reports as needed.
- Assist in coordinating study activities as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist with manuscript writing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Hourly Range
$16.50- $26.80
Qualifications
Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field OR High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Ability to accumulate and analyze data
