Residence Life Coordinator
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Residence Life Coordinator for Residence Life. This position reports to the Associate Director of Residential Communities for two of four campuses and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, activities and services for 500 to 1500 students living in residence halls and/or apartments.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Supervises undergraduate and/or graduate staff and develop a team that will implement all the activities, programs and services needed to create inclusive communities that reflect the mission and goals of Residence Life.
- Responds effectively and efficiently to resident concerns , and works with colleagues from Residence Life and Facilities to address facilities related issues.
- Advises and develops students involved with hall government, living learning community peer mentors, and in-hall student leaders with an emphasis on empowerment and leadership development.
- Supports the daily operations of Residence Life and the fostering of a unique campus culture.
- Participates in campus based, departmental, and divisional trainings and is responsible for the evaluation of student staff.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in student affairs administration, higher education, or a closely related field is required.
- At least two (2) years of experience working in residence life.
