California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the School of Computer Science and Engineering. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, and maintain an active research agenda. CSUSB serves approximately 20,000 students and is committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of academic life. The School offers accredited programs in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, along with degrees in Bioinformatics and Applied Data Science.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Candidates with demonstrated excellence or potential in teaching, research, and service are strongly encouraged to apply.
JOB SUMMARY
The School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) invites applications for tenure-track position in Computer Science at the Assistant Professor level, beginning August 2026. All areas of Computer Science will be considered. CSE is seeking visionary candidates who contribute to our campus community through teaching, research, professional activities & service and to achieve the mission and goals of the School, College and University. The successful candidate is expected to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses offered in all of the programs offered in the School of Computer Science and Engineering. The successful candidate will produce scholarly research and provide service to the university and community. CSE offers Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Bioinformatics and Computer Engineering, a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Systems, and a Master of Science in Computer Science and Master of Science in Applied Data Science. Additionally, CSE offers Minor in Computer Science and Data Science as well as Certificates in Computer Systems & Programming, Mobile Application Development, Data Science, and Computer Science for K-12 Educators. CSE also offers courses at our Palm Desert Campus.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates with good teaching and research record. Preferred candidates must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, research and scholarly activities.
- The candidate is expected to supervise student research at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and to actively participate in other types of academic student advising.
- The candidate will actively contribute to the School's curriculum development. The candidate will serve the School, College and University, as well as the community and the profession.
