About the Team
The purpose of the Education Portfolio is to lead the provision of a distinctive UTS education. A distinctive UTS education contributes to student success through quality teaching and engaging and innovative curricula. This role is within the Education Connection team, comprised of staff who manage responsibilities that run across the entire portfolio and in some cases, the Division of Education and Students.

Detailed Description
About the Role
The Project Manager will lead the support for the partnership between UTS and the Solomon Island National
University (SINU) project in the Education Portfolio. The incumbent works alongside academic leads in the
portfolio to develop and deliver on the SINU project. The incumbent may also support other curriculum
projects as appropriate.
If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:
• Leading the professional management of the SINU Project including development of project briefs and outlines; project timelines; management of implementation; coordination resources; ensure budget is on track; provide timely and detailed reporting.
• Leadership in identifying critical issues and risk management for the project; applying knowledge of policies, legislative and legal requirements.
• Planning, projecting and programming strategies and implementing the same in collaboration with academic leads.
• Leading and monitoring the work of the administration team in UTS and in Honiara.
• Developing and maintaining an evaluation framework for the SINU project.
• Tracking progression of students involved in the SINU project.
• Collating data and undertaking statistical analysis to determine effectiveness of the project.
With examples, please outline within your Cover Letter, how you meet the following key selection criteria:
1. Previous experience working with Solomon Islanders and cultural sensitivity regarding First Nations People.
2. Extensive experience managing higher education projects.
3. Capacity to work independently with broad direction, exercise initiative and to work effectively in teams.
4. Ability to apply high level knowledge and excellent judgement in identifying critical issues and priorities.
Previous experience working with Australia Awards would be an advantage.
Remuneration/Salary
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $134,476 to $140,880 pa (HEW 9)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is part time (0.5FTE, 2.5 days per week) and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
