Remuneration: $135,483 to $153,562 pa (HEW8) (inclusive of $114,485 to $129,761 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Security Risk Specialist to join Campus Services, Administrative Division.

The Security Risk Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive security-specific risk assessments within the university environment. This includes protective security risk assessments on QUT buildings, spaces and assets, VIP risk assessments (security consult), and the development and maintenance of building profiles. The role supports QUT Faculties and Departments with specialist security risk assessments. This includes contributing to the development of operational, emergency and safety plans. The Security Risk Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of staff, students, and visitors, as well as safeguarding university assets and information.

What you need to succeed

Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications, with extensive experience in security management, risk management, or a related field.
Proven success in performing comprehensive protective security risk assessments, ideally with experience with VIP risk assessments, and the development of building profiles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential security threats and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to contribute to the development of operational and safety plans, incorporating comprehensive security risk management strategies.
Experience in conducting training sessions and workshops on security risk management practices and procedures.
