Salary from £36,513 to £41,565 per annum inclusive with potential to progress to £44,468 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years

The Grantham Research Institute is a world-leading centre for the study of the economics and social sciences of climate change and other global environmental problems. We are seeking to recruit a Senior Administration Officer to join our excellent professional services team and take lead operational responsibility for the effective management of the Institute’s physical resources and the delivery of a varied portfolio of internal research events.

Working closely with a wide range of research, policy and professional service colleagues across the Institute and School, the post holder will also provide a wide range of general administrative support and support Institute colleagues as required.

The role may require occasional ‘out of hours’ work to support evening/weekend events (for which time off in lieu is offered) and is primarily campus-based due to the nature of the responsibilities.

Applicants must have:

• Experience of working in a higher education / research centre environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including grammatical accuracy and the ability to adapt content and style to a specific audience.
• The ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
• Proven commitment to an ethos of continuous improvement.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
