The Opportunity
Western Sydney University is seeking a Senior Analyst, Financial Analysis and Commercial Evaluation to provide high quality financial insights, modelling and commercial evaluations that directly support enterprise-wide decision making. Working in partnership with the Manager, Financial Analysis and Commercial Evaluation, you will contribute to the University’s strategic initiatives through rigorous financial planning, business case analysis and evaluation of investment options.
In this role, you will design and deliver robust financial models, decision-support tools and business assessments that guide executives and senior stakeholders across complex operational and strategic contexts. You will draw on contemporary corporate finance techniques and quantitative analysis to communicate financial implications clearly and meaningfully.
You will also collaborate across the Finance portfolio and with leaders across Schools, Institutes and Divisions to ensure financial advice, systems analysis and process improvements are embedded into planning activities. Your work will contribute to the development of high-quality financial practices, budgets, risk assessments and strategic service delivery.
What Success Looks Like:
- Deliver accurate, compelling financial models and business cases that inform major strategic decisions.
- Provide high level financial planning support and commercial advice across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Manage assigned projects and produce analysis and insights that are timely, reliable and clearly communicated.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration and effective financial practice.
- Contribute to improved processes, policies and decision-support tools within the Finance portfolio.

About You
- Tertiary qualification in business, economics or finance, with progress toward postgraduate study (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate finance, financial modelling, project evaluation and analysis.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and deliver high-quality outputs.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving capability with attention to detail.
