Senior Communications and Research Translation Officer
- Part time (0.8FTE), fixed term until 31 December 2028 with hybrid working options available

- HEO 7 Base Salary $112,628 - $122,702 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Australian Centre for Gender Equality and Inclusion @ Work is a high-impact academic research centre whose scholars work with industry, government, communities and other researchers to generate evidence that advances gender equality and inclusion in the labour market and economy.
We are seeking a Senior Communications and Research Translation Officer to join the Centre and work with our academics to translate our work for policy, industry and public audiences.
In this role, you will help shape how the Centre communicates its evidence and insights. Working with Centre members, University communications colleagues and external partners, you will develop clear and compelling narratives that translate complex findings into accessible insights and ultimately social impact.
Your key responsibilities will be to work with academics, research partners and colleagues across the University to:
- translate complex research findings into accessible outputs such as briefs, reports, workplace tools, videos and digital content
- identify opportunities for the Centre's work to inform and influence policy, industry practice and public debate
- develop materials that support engagement with government, industry and community stakeholders
- prepare tailored materials for senior leaders, partners and external audiences
- coordinate communication activities including for events and digital channels collaborate on communications with the dedicated Business School media adviser as needed
- track and report on the reach and impact of the Centre's work and support continuous improvement in how evidence is communicated and applied.
About you
- tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, public policy, social sciences or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- demonstrated experience translating academic research and complex evidence into clear and compelling narratives for policy, industry and public audiences
- experience working in a research, policy, advocacy or related environment, with excellent writing, editorial and communication skills across multiple formats
- strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with academics, industry partners, government and community organisations
- demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and fast-moving deadlines, with strong organisational and time management skills
- experience producing high-quality written and digital content such as reports, briefs, workplace tools, web content or multimedia materials
- a proactive, problem-solving mindset, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to increase the reach and impact of evidence and insights.
